About the role
Storage Administrator to manage, monitor and optimise a VAST Data storage platform. You will own the day-to-day health of the VAST clusters, support enterprise data services (NFS, SMB, S3 and block), and partner with infrastructure, backup, security and application teams to ensure availability, performance and data protection.
Responsibilities include provisioning Views, Quotas and Tenants, planning non-disruptive upgrades and hardware expansions, owning snapshot, replication and DR readiness, troubleshooting performance across compute, network and storage layers, and automating with the VAST REST API or Python SDK. Working hours are aligned to UK business hours, with occasional out-of-hours work and time off in lieu. 8–10+ years on the VAST Data Platform is mandatory.
Must-have skills
- 8–10+ years hands-on with the VAST Data Platform
- 3+ years administering enterprise NAS / SAN or scale-out storage (VAST, Isilon, NetApp, Pure, PowerScale)
- VAST REST API and / or Python SDK for automation and reporting
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Good to have
- VAST certification or VAST Academy training
- Migration of workloads from legacy NAS / SAN to VAST
- Ansible / Terraform, Prometheus / Grafana / Splunk
- RDMA / RoCE, InfiniBand, NVIDIA / Mellanox networking
